US Pirate Party Endorses Michael Meo for Congress in Oregons 3rd District

Phoenix, ARIZONA, July 16, 2010 The US Pirate Party today is proud to announce their endorsement of Michael Meo, the Green Party candidate for the 3rd Congressional District of Oregon.

When one is first introduced to Meo through his website, it is immediately apparent that not only has he provided his stance on the issues but has also included a blog that gives a voter valubale information on his beliefs and personality. Most politicians seem to focus on playing to their audiences. Not Meo. He tells it as he sees it and is not afraid to criticize the either establishment party. Though his words may be blunt, they are also redolent with genuine concern.

While no candidate can please everyone with his platforms, a voter cannot ignore Meo's sincerity nor the fact that he is a truly independent thinker with the best interests of the public at heart. That is far more important than simply providing lip-service and making broken promises.

Michael Meo attended the meeting on July, 13, 2010 of the United States Pirate Party. During the meeting, he was asked if he will support our party's platform, including personal privacy, government transparency, and copyright and patent reform. He said, "All of those things I agree with and will support."

He also explained that "Only with open availability of information, such as is only possible with Net Neutrality, can we obtain and enforce the accountability of both public officials and the Green Party."

During the meeting, Meo vehemently insisted that he would take no donations from any committee. In regards to donations from lobbyists, he stated, "Lobbyists are
only allowed to give me information, but not any emolument."

Michael Meo is a refreshing change from the trite political rhetoric that is far too prevalent these days. The Pirate Party asks that its members and supporters in the 3rd Congressional District of Oregon eagerly support this exemplary candidate.
